About Me
Hey there! I imagine you are reading this in an attempt to make a good choice as to whom to invest your time with in the therapy space. To help you make that choice I’d love to share a bit about my passions, personality, and approach. Personally: I immigrated to the United States at the age of 9 and since then have been incredibly privileged to have been invited into the homes of so many cultures that reside here in NYC. I feel ever so thankful for a life surrounded with so many amazing people. I enjoy meeting people, eating all the cuisines NYC has to offer, cooking some of them, being out in nature, petting pets, playing games, psychology, neuroscience, lifting, and getting overly excited for things. Clinically: I believe there is a reason for everything in life, even if we don’t know it yet. My approach to understanding blends neuroscience with psychology to better explain our lives and help people understand the necessary steps for having positive life experiences. I specifically focus on delving into research that separates Western cultural influences from our actual neurology, separating social reality from objective reality. While our minds may as well be the vast universe in terms of how much we have left to explore to fully understand our function, the things that we do know help explain how we can be so unique and yet share so many experiences. I’ve had a lot of success in helping people understand themselves, and more importantly, accept themselves. I do not shy away from the suffering in life, and while I cannot take your role in changing your life, I can be there to sit with your pain, to cheer you on, to get excited over your victories, and to offer tools that move you towards your best life. I’ve worked with various populations, including: BIPOC individuals, those in the LGBTQIA+ community, those that come from low SES, immigrants and children of immigrants, underserved populations due to other issues such as homelessness, those who work in high stakes environments, and those who socialize mainly through the online space. In terms of diagnosis I’ve worked with various personality disorders, PTSD, cPTSD, those with psychotic disorders, adjustment disorders, social anxiety, generalized anxiety, OCD, ADHD, and depression. In terms of specific issues I’ve worked with people who struggle with connection, social skills, motivation, life management, various forms of trauma, emotional pain, and sexual struggles. I tend to lean toward approaches under the cognitive behavioral umbrella, such as: DBT, CBT, REBT, and ACT.
