Fees & FAQS

I am in-network provider for the following:
  • Blue Cross/Blue Shield (including Empire Blue Cross and Anthem Blue Cross)

I am out-of-network for other insurance plans. However, many insurance providers have out-of-network benefits which will cover your psychotherapy sessions. Most of our patients with out of network benefits are reimbursed at a rate of 60-80% making it very affordable. Apps like Better (see below) and Reimbursify make it really easy for you to be reimbursed! Don't let network status stop you from seeing your provider of choice! We will verify your benefits and give you the information you need on cost.

If you have questions about using your out of network benefits, feel free to contact my office.

  • Dr. Johnson also has highly skilled therapists under her supervision who can see patients for lower fees ranging from $30-$125 depending on session type. Contact us for more info!

All of our therapists have a reserved number of spots for reduced fee appointments, which are available on a case-by-case basis. Contact us for more information.
Because each person has different issues and goals for therapy, it will vary depending on the individual. However, the process typically begins with an evaluation of your needs. By the end of our first meeting, I will offer some initial impressions of what our work should include and a treatment plan to follow. Most patients start off with weekly 45-minute sessions, but the frequency and duration of sessions can be altered based on mutual agreement.
Confidentiality is one of the most important elements between the patient and therapist. Successful therapy requires a high degree of trust as many are discussing highly sensitive subject matter throughout the course of treatment. In most situations your therapist can’t share information about you unless you were to sign a release of information. However, state law and professional ethics require therapists to break confidentiality in the following situations:
  • Suspected past or present abuse of children, adults, and elders to the authorities, including child protection and law enforcement, based on the information provided by the patient and collateral sources.
  • If the therapist has reason to suspect the patient is a seriously in danger of harming him/herself or has threatened to harm another person.
We require a 48-hour cancellation and reschedule policy for all individual and group appointments. Less than 48 hours notice will result in paying the full fee for that scheduled visit. You are given text and/or email reminders 48 hours in advance for all appointments.
